PRINCE2™ accredited workshops
PRINCE2™ is the recognised ‘best practice’ Project Management methodology within the UK and is the standard methodology expected to be used within the NHS and the public sector.

PRINCE2 provides the project manager with:
  • A defined set of roles and responsibilities for each project team member (including project sponsor/project board members)
  • A controlled start, defining the project through the PID (Project Initiation Document)
  • The ability to define the project’s products (product description) and to plan for their creation (product based planning)
  • The ability to managing the project implementation on a stage by stage basis
  • A process for managing changes (evaluating/prioritising/deciding)
  • Delegating work to others in a controlled way using work packages
  • A controlled close to the project

The course focuses on the practicalities of using the PRINCE2 methodology within your environment and will be facilitated by PRINCE2™ qualified trainers who have experience of managing and/or providing consultancy support to PRINCE2™ projects within the public sector.

Where has PRINCE2 helped other organisations:
  • Setting up a project board consisting of clinicians (Consultants and GPs) for a clinical services project where using the role descriptions (senior user/senior supplier and executive) enabled the individuals to have clarity about their individual role/responsibilities and to become fully engaged with the project.
  • Using the concept of stages for a 3 year NHS re-development project allowed the project team to have a high level Project plan for the total project but only to have a detailed plan for the first stage (approx 90 days). This avoided unnecessary complications within the project plan.
  • Having a business case associated with an NHS re-structuring project allowed a decision to be taken after just 3 months about the continued viability of the project when it became obvious the business case benefits of cost reduction could not be met in full.
